To meet these requirements, Nutrien deployed five REIC Rentals Solar Hybrid Light Towers across the site.
The project was completed during the facility’s annual summer turnaround, when extended daylight hours and warmer temperatures maximized the effectiveness of the solar technology. Increased sunlight allowed the solar batteries to recharge more efficiently, while warmer conditions helped the batteries retain their charge for longer periods.
These hybrid units combined solar power with a backup diesel generator, ensuring uninterrupted lighting while significantly reducing reliance on fuel.
