CASE STUDY | Emergency Cooling for VFD Room | Oil & Gas | Texas

Project Overview

REIC Rentals was called to support a critical operation at an oil and gas facility in Garden City, Texas, following a failure of the existing cooling system.

The site’s VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) room experienced an AC outage, causing internal temperatures to rise to unsafe levels.

The Challenge

The VFD room temperature quickly climbed to approximately 115°F, creating a risk to both equipment performance and overall site operations.

To maintain functionality and avoid disruption, the room needed to be kept at approximately 68°F.  Without immediate intervention, the site faced potential downtime and operational delays.

The Solution

REIC deployed a 30-ton air conditioning unit to restore and maintain proper temperature conditions within the VFD room.

Our team acted quickly to install and stabilize the system, ensuring consistent cooling despite extreme conditions.

The Result

The temporary cooling solution successfully reduced and maintained the room temperature at 68°F, allowing operations to continue without interruption.

By responding quickly and providing the right equipment, REIC helped the customer avoid downtime and keep the site running efficiently.

Key Takeaways

  • Maintained precise temperature control in extreme conditions
  • Prevented operational disruption for oil and gas facility
