CASE STUDY | Oil Production Site in West Virginia

Transitioning to Flameless Heating Across All Job Sites

Location: West Virginia
Industry: Oil & Gas
Equipment: 38 Flameless JetHeat Units

The Challenge

An oil production company operating multiple workover sites in West Virginia relied on conventional rental heaters to support winter operations. While these heaters were already in use, they required high fuel consumption and multiple units to generate sufficient heat across active pad locations.

With crews working in cold conditions and several sites operating simultaneously, the company needed a safer, more efficient heating solution that could reduce fuel costs while maintaining reliable performance.

The Solution

During a site visit, a REIC Rentals representative introduced the site manager to an alternative heating option: a Flameless JetHeat Unit. One unit was delivered to the job site later that day and put into operation.

The impact was immediate. Upon startup, the foreman noted the significant heat output, highlighting the difference in performance compared to traditional heaters. The unit was left on site for a four-day demo period, allowing crews to become familiar with the technology and experience its capabilities firsthand.

The Results

The demo left a strong impression. Within weeks, the production company requested four JetHeat units to support multiple active pad locations, with plans to keep them in operation through the spring.

Beyond performance, the company was particularly impressed by the fuel savings and efficiency of the JetHeat units. A comparison showed that one JetHeat unit could replace up to three conventional heaters while delivering equivalent BTU output. When fuel consumption was factored in, the cost advantages became clear to decision-makers across the organization.

The Outcome

The following year, the production company transitioned nearly all of its job sites to REIC Rentals’ Flameless JetHeat Units. A total of 38 units were deployed across workover projects in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Typically, a single JetHeat unit was used per site, with split ducting distributing flameless heat to both equipment and personnel areas. The high CFM output and powerful heat delivery allowed each site to operate efficiently with fewer units, reduced fuel usage, and improved safety.

What began as a single on-site demo ultimately led to a full fleet deployment across three states—demonstrating the scalability, efficiency, and value of REIC Rentals’ Flameless JetHeat technology.
