The $180 million expansion of Redmond Municipal Airport is one of Central Oregon’s largest infrastructure projects. Scheduled for completion in 2027, the work spans electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and general construction scopes, with multiple contractors operating simultaneously across an active airport environment.
The scale and complexity of the project demand reliable equipment availability, responsive service, and a rental partner capable of adapting to shifting demands across phases spanning several years.
REIC Rentals engaged with contractors involved in the project well before equipment demand reached its peak. Through ongoing communication, jobsite visits, and established relationships with local construction teams, the REIC Rentals team positioned itself to support multiple phases of work as the project evolved. That early engagement is what allowed equipment to be in place when contractors needed it, rather than being sourced under time pressure once work was already underway.
Throughout the project, REIC Rentals has partnered with a range of contractors, including EC Electric, Southland Mechanical, Cochran Electric, Costco Fire Protection, and Skanska. Equipment requirements have included scissor lifts and forklifts, supporting material handling and staging, with additional aerial equipment serving electrical, mechanical, and fire protection work across multiple active areas of the site simultaneously.
As contractors became more familiar with REIC Rentals’ aerial fleet and broader equipment capabilities, the scope of support continued to grow. Modern equipment, responsive local service, and the ability to adapt to changing project demands have allowed REIC Rentals to serve several trades across the project rather than a single contractor or scope.
The Redmond Airport Expansion requires equipment availability throughout the full project duration, not just during the early phases. REIC Rentals is supporting the project with 25 to 40 scissor lifts on site at any given time, multiple forklifts to support ongoing construction activities, additional aerial equipment across future project phases, and climate-control solutions for heating and cooling as interior work progresses.
With equipment expected to remain on site throughout the next several years, the operational relationship between REIC Rentals and the project’s contractors is built for the long term rather than a single phase or trade package.
